I went to the McDonald’s drive thru one time and ordered a meal. When I got to the window I realized I forgot my card at home, so the guy opened the window and told me the total, and I said “I thought I had my card, but I must have left it at home, I’m not far from here, I live nearby, I can go get it.”

Then he said “no, you’re good, don’t worry about it”

And I said “oh my god thank you!”

Then he closed the window and continued making the food and when he opened it back up he saw me there and said “what are you still doing here?”

And I fumbled my words and said “oh yeah let me go get the card”

Because I thought he meant it’s okay and that he was just gonna give me the meal for free
