If we are talking about tripping over a girl that isn't into you then it is a sign of low SMV if you are over 18. I don't think it has to do with hormones, I think that is a pseudoscientific take. You shouldn't have to trip over one girl who isn't into you, you should be able to move on fast to a different girl if you are attractive or high SMV. But I agree with OP that having a oneitis is a problem and a bad sign.

If she doesn't like you find another... if you can't find anyone you are stuck tripping over some girl who is simply a friend to you.
