A gruesome situation where ethnics were segregated and pushed away from white areas to live in bantustans, this was unfortunetely the situation my grandparents and parents lived in, my gradma telling me on how she was a servant and my parents telling how they threw riots during the peak of it







The effects are still felt today and racial tension is hidden but still there, i myself have gotten racially discriminized irl before, both had quiet and loud racism towards me

It's not possible in south Africa's context because unlike in america where the WASPs and later Jews held all the power there were no clear cut class structure. The Afrikaner government chose racial segregation as a way to ensure a permanent underclass (the Black population) that could be exploited economically and kept politically powerless
