I watched a YT video called “Using numbers to find the ideal male height.” The most compelling data in it was from romance novels imo. Women examined 1000 romance novels. Romance novels are written by women for women so they’re incentivized to make the men as close to possible of what women fantasize about without virtue signaling. Women’s sexuality is more story driven than men’s so sexual romance novels is basically their equivalent of porn videos. Only 257 of 1000 had a specific height rather than just “tall.”

79% of the characters were in the 6’0” to 6’6” range. Likelihood of a male lead having a height taller or shorter than this was exponentially lower.

≈90% of the male protagonist fell into the at least 6’0” but below 7’0” range.

It was more common for the male lead to be 7’0”+ than it was for them to be 5’9”-5’11”.

The most frequently occurring (mode) height was 6’2” — or 10” taller than the average woman’s. 39/257 of the protagonists were mentioned to be 6’2”

In second place was the height of 6’4” — or 1 foot taller than the average woman. 33/257 of the male leads were mentioned to be 6’4”

In third place was the height of 6’3” — or 11” taller than the average woman’s. 29/257 of the male leads were mentioned to be 6’3”

If you care more about mean than mode:

When every individual male lead’s mentioned height was averaged together it was found the (mean) height of a male lead in a romance novel was 6’3”.

If you can height fraud to this range comfortably then go for it. If you can’t, still height fraud a little bit and see if you have the best luck with women 10”-to-1 foot shorter than you

Ideal Prince Charming: 6'4, Chad face, perfect physique, 8 inch BWC and 100 billion dollars in the bank account.
The average Becky will be waiting a very long time for this guy.
It'll take around 1 trillion reincarnations. Then maybe she'll meet him.

Being 6’5+ is kinda a halo but at the same time it’s not. Girls will expect u to pull a snake out ya pants bc u so tall. In reality even if u pull out 8 inches on a 7 foot body it’s gonna look damn near average. Even tho it’s huge

everyone dishonest saying they’re 1½-2 inches than they actually are barefoot puts pressure on everyone inclined to be honest to also lie. Girls will perceive you as shorter if you aren’t consistent with everyone else’s lies unless you’re mogging every guy around you when she meets you.

Where did the idea come from that long leg bones + long spine would mean long penis anyway?

With a good shoe choice and lifting insoles inside the shoes you could probably make yourself appear 2 inches taller without it being too uncomfortable. So you’d be walking around with a 6’1” height.

But if she’s average height or shorter she probably wouldn’t notice if you still exaggerated a bit by claiming 6’1½” or 6’2”.

Dressing monochromatically & sometimes even hairstyle can add to the illusion of greater length. Make sure to have good posture.

6’2” is a great height to fraud for an average height chick. Speed dating studies found women were most likely to say yes to a man when the height difference reached 25cm (≈10 inches). Which is in line with this romance novel research.

Its their “dream man” they’re writing
— so it didn’t surprise me 0/1000 were under average height (<5’9”), only 1 out of 1000 was average height (5’9”), & less than a dozen were above-average but sub-six foot (5’10”-5’11”). However, It STILL blows me away there were more 7’ love interests are more common than sub-six foot ones. Like damn, it’s weird that we don’t talk about height-fetishist like they’re creepy or weird. I can’t think of a reason a woman would want a man to be nearly/at/over 7 feet tall besides having a weird obsessive sexual fetish.

The ideal male height isn’t one fixed number—it really depends on where you are and what the local averages are. In places like Thailand, the average is lower than in the Netherlands, so "ideal" often means being a certain number of inches above the local norm rather than hitting an absolute mark like 6'2". Women generally look for guys who are taller than they are and also stand out among their peers, so it’s more useful to talk in terms of percentiles or being a few inches above average.

That said, women's attraction to a number like 6'2" doesn't always translate to how they feel about someone who's actually 6'2" in real life. Sure, 6'2" is seen as very attractive on paper, but the numeric ideal doesn't always match up with the real-life vibe or presence of a person. Plus, there's the issue of height inflation—most guys tend to add at least an inch, sometimes two or more, below a certain height threshold. So, we can't rely entirely on self-reported ideals when it comes to real attraction.

I overall agree with your thread. I've read plenty of these romance novels where women describe a fantasy that's often more extreme than what they'd admit in real life. For example, while women might say they want a "nice guy," the male lead in these stories is rarely just a run-of-the-mill nice guy. More often, he starts off being abrasive or even disliked, and she only comes to love him after a roller coaster of emotions. This dramatic, emotionally charged dynamic is something they secretly crave, even if they won’t openly admit it because it might sound shallow.

Yeah, appearing 4½-6 inches above the national average might be a better way to think about it in some contexts. My focus was on America though.
