Does anyone know a particular person in this forum that has orthodontic or dental experience?

Im currently undergoing braces for DJS but I need a high iq 2nd opinion because my ortho is being a bit weird.

You might call me retarded for not just going to another maxillofacialsurgeons office, but the closest one other than the one im at is 2.5 hours away, so I thought I’d ask if anyone knew anything here before going the way.

The bite i currently have dosent match my decompensation plan. Ive been wearing braces since around september and it feels more like a compensation then a decompensation. My treatment plan is jaw surgery though.

Seeing as the next closest Mfs office is quite the distance away i thought id ask if anyone knew anything here, but its pretty hopeless. People seem to start trolling on any surgery post apparently.

if you think that ur ortho is weird just change or go to another one and ask, if ur treatment is jaw surgery you should 100% do it

You are right for sure, its smarter to just get a second opinion elsewhere. Appointments just take ages, multiple weeks to months so i thought id ask here. The issue is also that most orthos where i live a blue pilled and just pull teeth to make crude bites, i have alot of friends whove undergone braces at other orthos and just got completely butchered by multiple teeth extractions.

you can prevent getting butchered only if u really know what he is doing and what the results of it will be. Also you should not let anyone operate on you if u are not sure what he is capable of.

I know what you mean. So far itd mostly just be a waste of time and it would be reversible. My orthodontist isnt tied to my surgeon, shes just responsible for decompensating my teeth like the surgeons office that transfered me told them to.
