18M (time is ticking...)
- narrow palate/maxilla but no recession
- still have wisdom teeth but proper eruption is compromised by lack of space
- MARPE, palate expander etc... dont really lengthen the arch, only widen it, so idk if those would be an alternative to extraction cuz they wouldnt fix the lack of space
rn my dentist has advised extraction but i have yet to see a stomatologist, should i first get them extracted then consider damon braces or some expansion device or try to avoid extraction completely, and if then what should i do
cuz ive seen mixed opinions on it especially on the fact that it makes ur face collapse or not etc...

my knowledge of orthodontics is very limited so advice would be appreciated

If your wisdom teeth are impacting your other teeth, get them extracted
If you have a cross bite, get palate expander

You are already developed so extraction will not change your face at all, do what your orthodontist says.

my bite isnt the problem i dont have malocclusion, only a narrow palate, would expansion still be relevant ?

Can and will widen the airways, but if your breathing and bite is fine, why would you expand? Unless you need width in your midface

my breathing is fine now although i never truly experienced what perfect breathing is assuming my airways are narrower than ideal because of my palate, but i'm prone to sleep apnea since both my parents have OSA (their palates are narrow as well)
