Orthodontics and elastics

I have braces and my orthodontist is haveing me wear elastic’s to fix my overbite and I’m concerned it will make my maxila recessed. The attached picture it the way they are haveing me wear them. I want to know if I should stop wearing them or if it will help me. My chin is slightly recessed though so I’m wondering if that will be fixed along with the overbite.

if you dont wear them, then youre just gonna end up having to get correctional treatment and itll extend your time with braces. i recently took them off and ortho told me that. honestly just wear them its 6oz, not that deep

listen to your ortho lol a piece of rubber connected to metal isnt gonna change bone, only alevolar change (posssibly). If u get recessed you were already recessed
