I have been having braces since last year and I am required to have elastics on for a small overbite, I did for a while but I am scared it will recess my maxilla more because it is already recessed. Are there any other ways I can ask my orthodontist to fix my overbite without recessing my maxilla more or should I just keep going with the elastics.

class 2 maloclusion bands can recess you
class 3 wont
i think @aids possibly made a thread on this i might be completly wrong in both my answer and this tho
