Orthodontics/OMFS vs Restorative dentistry?

Just did a consult with a top specialist in restorative dentistry. For $145,000 (ik fucking crazy) he claims he can fix this asymmetry, which he believes is largely caused by malocclusion (misaligned bite.)

He warned me that orthodontics is a "black hole" that would pretty much make things worse. I don't really see how. What do we think?

145,000 is ridiculous, defo go see orthos and check what they have to say back. Maybe even look for overseas orthos and dentistry for cheaper prices and opinions. Ofc don’t go too cheap, quality is more or less guaranteed in the US

Orthodontics can actually correct bite issues that contribute to asymmetry. The specialist was probably warning about complexity of the procedure, not impossibility.
Some ppl even get mandibular osteotomies, which is way more complicated, just to fix malocclusion. It really depends on how badly u want
