Bone density has some effect on how prominent or robust your facial bones appear, but it is not the primary factor that determines the size or shape of your facial bones, including the zygomatic bones. Here's how bone density and bone structure relate to appearance:
1. Bone Density vs. Bone Size
1. Bone Density vs. Bone Size
- Bone density refers to the concentration of minerals (mainly calcium) within the bone, making it stronger and more resistant to fractures. Higher bone density strengthens the bone but doesn’t necessarily make it look larger or more prominent.
- Bone size and shape, including facial bone contours, are largely determined by genetics! and the structure you develop during growth. Once your facial bones have fully developed (usually after adolescence), their size and shape are fixed.
