Another example is when someone you’ve been seeing casually for a year tells you they have gone exclusive with someone else so can’t hang out/bang anymore.

That really hurts a lot.

It’s a rejection even if you didn’t want to date them seriously because they still picked someone else over you.

The whole time you were going over there, secure in yourself and fucking them - they were also seeing someone better than you at the same time. It’s obvious we aren’t exclusive, but it hurts to know you were never the favorite or even close to that.
