Deepinderjeet 'Deep' Singh and a woman were sitting on the water's edge near Franklin Wharf, when a person came up behind them and allegedly pushed them into the water, in an attempt to steal the woman's handbag. The woman was able to swim to safety and call for help, but Mr Singh could not swim.
