Palate size and recessed maxilla correlation

Is there any correlation between your maxilla being recessed and palate size? I have see people saying palate expanders will help in fixng a recessed maxilla but im just not understanding how it would act on it. I have both a narrow palate(8 teeth smile?) and somewhat recessed maxilla.

yes they're correlated
expanding your palate won't make it less recessed, if anything you are just increasing the amount of recessed bone on your face because your maxilla will stay recessed but now your lower maxilla will be wider, thus more recessed bone was created.

I still recommend getting your palate expanded if it is narrow, it's a major breathing benefit

I've already had braces and im not sure that it will be a looksmaxx, i think it will be un noticable. Is there anything at all i can try to fix maxilla without lefort?
