What are PDO thread lifts
PDO (polydioxanone) threads are dissolvable, medical-grade sutures used in non-surgical "thread lifts" to instantly lift sagging skin on the face, neck, and body while stimulating collagen production. Kind of like a facelift provide immediate tightening, with results lasting 1–3 years as the body absorbs the threads.

Key Details About PDO Threads
  • Procedure:A provider inserts threads using a needle or cannula, lifting the skin and anchoring it, with minimal downtime
    • Types of Threads:
      • Mono Threads: Smooth, used for skin rejuvenation and tightening.
      • Cog Threads: Barbed, used for lifting sagging tissue.
      • Screw Threads: Intertwined, used for restoring volume.
    • Areas Treated: Cheeks, jawline, neck, eyebrows, nasolabial folds, and areas of the body.
    • Benefits: Natural-looking results, increased collagen (fibrosis), and minimal downtime.
    • Side Effects: Temporary bruising, swelling, tenderness, and, rarely, visible threads or slight dimpling.
    • Longevity: While threads dissolve in 4–6 months, the collagen stimulation keeps skin tighter for 1–3 years.

You can use PDO threads for a better eyearea by lifting up the skin around it giving a fox eye appearance

fagvicular trying it:

conclusion on PDO threads
PDO Threads are temporary scaffolding inserted under the dermis to manipulate soft tissue
They proactively reinforce the face’s "chassis" by forcing the body to overproduce its own structural proteins. For those with decent bone structure who just need to "shrink-wrap" their skin to their jawline

I’ve heard alot of surgeons complains about these messing up the facial layers(only relevant if your getting surgery that requires dissection by layer). I know some that say they won’t even operate on people who have had threads.

The made permeate threads in the 90s, some people still have them infact. For whatever reason the fda revoked them.

I’ve seen a good number of Asian surgeons and 1 American trying to at least bring back threads conceptually. Ie they are using some kind of permeate string/suture to lift facial tissues. Not wide spread but that’s what the surgeon going the 9D face lift is basically doing. He’s not doing any type of real dissection.

It’s just like fat removal from lower 3rd, lift mid face with permeate sutures maybe some fat grafting in mid and upper face.

Any scarring or side effects that i should know abt?
PDO threads generally cause minimal scarring, with tiny, fading insertion points, but risks include temporary bruising, swelling, dimpling, thread migration, and infection. More severe, rare complications involve nerve damage

I was about to say "wow the first time I've seen a good guide from a IGFS member"

then read it and realized its GPT garbage

How is this a guide on anything? A Guide would imply if guides you into doing something, this has no instructions at all, you get the same information from a google AI summary.

    • Longevity: While threads dissolve in 4–6 months, the collagen stimulation keeps skin tighter for 1–3 years.

conclusion on PDO threads
PDO Threads are temporary scaffolding inserted under the dermis to manipulate soft tissue
They proactively reinforce the face’s "chassis" by forcing the body to overproduce its own structural proteins. For those with decent bone structure who just need to "shrink-wrap" their skin to their jawline

TLDR:rageJ:
PDO (Polydioxanone) threads are medical-grade, dissolvable sutures used in minimally invasive "thread lifts" to tighten and lift sagging skin.
