you know who does the equivalent of this irl? those repulsive 15th percentile normies by attempting putting new members of the social circle/class/group/you name it to try upping their status, because they have 0 other ways of stopping being considered as borderline rejects who could get dropped from the circle any minute.
and yeah, it always backfires, but they are too low iq to get it even after the 50th time they do it
