Yes

how many mgs do you take?

2 grams and 1.5 grams
2 grams has heavy shutdown after effects wear off, you'll go to sleep pretty much immediately whether you want to or not.

do you take it at the start of the day?

Yes, on an empty stomach (must be on an empty stomach, also don't eat afterward for 3 hours or so).

when does the effect wear off?

For me after 13 hours I think?

do you take it every single day?

Nope, I think you could very low dosage.
I take it only when stressful social situations come up.

Yes I take it once a week roughly. 500mg to 1gram only. I use the HCl version but I ordered the free amino acid form cuz it can be taken sublingually and with food.
