If you look at these four pictures, they represent the extremes of aesthetics. I used a South Asian man and a 'Nordic Chad' as examples. I used to think forward projection determined the skull shape, but the reality is that depth does not equal skin thickness or dermal facial features. You will notice that despite the extreme facial depth, the facial features are extremely different. The hair texture is also different. Also, since the Nordic dude has thinner skin, the features look sharper and more angular, and the buccals are naturally more refined. You will notice the lips, the eyes, and the cheekbone shape. Basically, every feature is different. However, if you looked at anterior depth, they are identical. It is like they have the same 3D volume, but everything else is different. I wasn't aware of this, but phenotype transcends bone depth, and you can't change it. Even with the same bone depth in a pound-for-pound assessment, you will always look like your ethnicity and specifically your particular phenotype. I wasn't aware of how deep this goes, but it clears up the question of how 'Chads' of other ethnic groups can exist when the average is considered unattractive. It is because it’s not about the features but about the whole craniofacial depth. If you have extreme depth, otherwise sub-optimal features become a halo.7
