Yeah, in my case, it happened gradually.

I went down enough rabbit holes of metaphysics, consciousness, symbolism, and the whole "How does a worldview even assemble itself?" question that rendered religion completely useless.
Once you’ve actually wrestled with that stuff yourself, the idea of outsourcing meaning to a man-made institution feels ridiculous.

I stopped following anything and started assembling my own system from first principles.
The Cathars tried something similar and got burned for it. Different era, same dynamic.

If you regard all philosophical theories as insufficiently grounded (copium) then you should study the works of Sextus Empiricus & subsequent Pyrrhonists

As a supplement to this, you can also check the work of Wittgenstein - even his Pyrrhonism is a of linguistic kind
