not really... lifting is braindead easy and you'll lose fat and build muscle while eating the same amount as before. dieting is way harder than picking shit up and putting it down loleasiest way to do it is by eating less
Yea lifting weights has really helped me lower my body fat % and increase my muscle mass %. And I don't even lift for muscle mass. I lift to build muscle endurance. I use 15 lb dumb bells and even that was enough for me to build SOME muscle mass because I live an otherwise sedentary basement dwelling NEET lifestyle (and I'm confirmed low T via blood work) and I had very little muscle to begin with. My muscle mass % is still below 40% (for men it should be at least 40%) but it's higher than it used to be. I am focusing mostly on toning and muscle endurance now. I lost more body fat % than I gained muscle mass % by doing lots of reps of the smaller weights. And there are exercises you can do with dumb bells to work your core. And also crunches are cheap and easy.
