Prior to probably grade 10 I was the least liked and one of the ugliest people in the grade. I was recessed, I didn’t care about my hygiene and I hit puberty late. I lost almost all of my friends and I was bullied daily. Some kid even took a photo of my dick when I was on the shitter. I would’ve continued down this path, but I started playing basketball.

I was forced into close proximity with a lot of the popular kids, so I naturally started to mimic them, so I started acting less nd. Being in a team also helps with that voice in the back of your head that tells you that you don’t belong. Being oriented towards the same goal also makes it easier to make friends, and if you play well your team mates will probably like you.

If it wasn’t for basketball I would probably still be the weird kid in the grade.

Obviously it’s not gonna change your bone structure, it’s the social benefits that are important.

95% of people would not be here if they played sports in highschool.

My tiktok oneitis recently got a boyfriend, and it's an absolute subhuman but she's obsessed with football and he's a wide receiver @ Ohio State.

@trueShmerg what sport did you end up playing? Just saw you were a fellow Canadian.

In my experience Football/Hockey will increase your smv x100 in highschool compared to something like basketball/soccer, where I grew up at least. There were like 5 main HTB sluts at my hs and every non subhuman on my football team slayed them each at least once.

I fully know what you mean, I’ve been the worst player on 3 of the 7 teams I’ve played on. It just means you have to put more work in than everyone else during your own time. Along as you stay with it those problems will probably go away. Once your confidence for the sport goes up you will also notice you become more confident talking to your teammates.

I’m from Canada, so if you’re a hockey player it’s pretty much free pussy. I was more focused on the social aspect of team sports, but your absolutely right that picking the right sport can do wonders for your SMV.

100% it doesn’t even need to be competitive

Even pick up sports is a crucial boost to self esteem. You’ll become some everyday normie which is already vastly superior to being a social outcast nolifer

Thanks for bringing that up, I guess I must have forgot to talk about pickup basketball. But yeah that’s so true, playing pickup made me so much more confident talking to strangers. I’d recommend going to your local park or gym to play alone so you’re forced to interact with someone. If you keep it up consistently you’ll notice genuine improvement when you’re taking to people.

That’s just because you’re a goalie. There’s no such this as an NT goalie.

it's so easy for connections and shi. best ones is football and basketball. it's great when like you're all going through the same punishments like suicides or up downs because you're all struggling together.

I was thinking about making a thread talking about this too like it's so good for friends and a good halo. The earlier you start the better and you might turn out good.

ofc it's all genetic determinism and if you're on this forum in the first place, you're probably bottom of the gene pool, but you could still improve.

That’s a really good point you made about shared struggles/ punishment bringing people together.
