Pokemon Ruby (and Saphire) are the true gen 3 games. Let me explain:
1.Emerald changed the outfits and made them greener and gayer
2.Changed the champion from a grey haired boss to a fucking trap
3.Added battle frontier which was really unesesary since all battle facilities besides battle tower were extremely retarded and luck based
4.Not to mention game freak differeantiated emerald as much as possible from ruby in order to market it as a new game not as a polished version of ruby
5.Boring extended story noone cares about
6.Also the character designs in ruby are the canon ones we see in anime with May and Brendan in his few cameos.
