Ever since I was young, I always had trouble harboring respect for anyone who looked bad.
I remember being 12 and thinking my friends were somewhat too ugly and I felt the urge to distance myself from them as a result.
I just can't view people who aren't beautiful with respect or admiration, even if I'm not super beautiful myself. It just feels like a humiliation more profound than any other.
