When I was 10 or 11 I was in boy scouts and we had a raft building competition where different teams had to build a raft which we would race up the river for a prize. Halfway through the race one of the guys jumped off his raft and started swimming to the other rafts with a pocket knife, cutting the ropes holding the planks of wood to the barrels used for buoyancy (JFL).
This was many years ago so the details are fuzzy but somehow as this was happening I got a bit of rope tangled around my neck which was attached to a large plank of wood from the raft that started sinking to the bottom of the river, pulling me down with it. Was scary as fuck, I couldn't see shit due to the murkyness and was getting dragged deep underwater. After like 20 seconds of struggling I managed to untangle the rope from my neck and swim to the surface.
