It's the widest point of the face but typically lens distortion will basically hide it in selfies, or it can be easily covered with hair.

I certainly don't think this is where most org users are measuring when they measure their "zygos" but it's also basically irrelevant except in frontal view.

It's problematic for ESR if this is visible. It can be covered with hair quite easily but there is also an osteotomy which can reduce it by 7mm (in this example).


For example in my own CT, it's evident that it would be beneficial to increase width of the anterior zygomatic structure with implants (blue), while reducing the width of the posterior zygomatic structure with the osteotomy described (red).
