as you know browridge is an important part of your eye ara but its not a death sentence
so i want your guy's opinions on this
Two methods :
Maxilla widening
1. RPE (Rapid Palatal Expansion)
Works ONLY in kids/early teens (≈ ≤15–16 yrs)
Splits the mid-palatal suture
True widening of:
Upper jaw
Smile
Nasal airway (Does NOT work for adults)
2. MARPE (Mini-screw Assisted RPE) viable for adults
Uses bone-anchored screws
Can widen adult maxilla 2–6 mm
Improves:
Cheekbone support
Smile width
Nasal breathing
Requires orthodontist + CBCT scan
Downtime: Minimal
Pain: Moderate pressure, not surgery-level
vary depending on suture fusion
3. SARPE (Surgically Assisted RPE)
Most reliable adult option
Minor surgery + expander
Guaranteed skeletal widening
Used when MARPE fails
Downtime: 2–3 weeks
Results: Permanent, structural
SURGICAL FACE WIDENING (Advanced)
Le Fort I Osteotomy (Maxillary Advancement + Widening)
Major jaw surgery
Can widen AND move maxilla forward
Improves:
Facial projection
Midface flatness
Bite
Under-eye support
Mastication
What mastication does
Trains jaw muscles (mainly masseter)
Improves chewing efficiency and endurance
Can increase muscle thickness, not bone width
Core mastication rules
Chew slowly and rhythmically
Alternate sides evenly
Stop immediately if there is pain, clicking, or tension near the ear
Jaw movement should be mostly vertical, not grinding
Progressive chewing process
Step 1: Conditioning
Start with soft–moderate resistance foods
Chew 10–15 minutes/day
Purpose: prepare joints, ligaments, and muscles
Step 2: Load increase
Introduce firmer foods or harder gum
Chew 15–25 minutes/day
Break into short sets to avoid fatigue
Step 3: Peak loading (optional)
Use high-resistance chewing sparingly
Max 20–30 minutes/day, 3–4 days/week
Purpose: muscle stimulation, not strain
Technique cues
Lips closed, teeth lightly contacting food
Tongue relaxed against the palate
No clenching between bites
Breathe through the nose
tl;dr
widen your maxilla and chew hard foods
[THIS IS ALL THEORY OF MINE AND IM NOT CLAIMING FOR THIS TO WORK]
