It is natural to get overwhelmed with information and end up doing nothing to utilise it and chalk it off to a lack of motivation. But what you need is a system.
Tiny tiny decisions
Let me explain. You are sitting at your couch and want to go to the gym but have been slacking for the past 15 odd days, comfortable inside your blanket eating your doritos browsing Looksmax and doing Mog battles with your homies. Convincing your primal being to be working out is scoff-worthy given the dopamine de-transition.
But there is no decision to lift like a pro and have the mogger workout you want if you don't get out of the bed, you sussy baka. So you just convince yourself to take off the blanket.
That's all you need to do, not more. Then. Walk one step further. Two steps. Go to your wardrobe. Open it. Put on your workout clothes. Go to the front door and shut it behind you. By that time you have eliminated over 80% of resistance and procrastination involved.
It is impossible to say no at that point. Action spawns more action, it is a slippery slope. You'll feel good and you'll do more of that. Same can be said for negative action, lazy, lying on couch, more pointless browsing and refreshing and the same inertia continues until you do something different.
Every time you want to do something constructive your primal brain lashes out because it is comfortable, you have to not let it get overwhelmed by only undertaking simple decisions at once.
Consistency is not built overnight. It is a compilation of small correct decisions made along the way. This method of thought may not be very convincing in writing but I guaranfuckingtee it is extremely useful if you apply it. You get one prompt to make the decision, you accept (+1 for self growth) or decline (do nothing and stay where you are or decay). The more yeses, the easier it is in the future, same for doing anything constructive.
