theoretically if death is like how we sleep (without dreams) would it be useful to sleep like 2 hours extra in the afternoon to practice it?

Nothing can capture death in its essence except death itself. No level of abstract thinking/ philosophising. Certain meditative practices may come close such as the bardo/ Kashmiri shaivism

death is absence of consciousness, you "experience" it anytime you have a dreamless sleep. the implication is what makes people claustrophobic and have that heavy feeling in their chest

thats how i would think it is. low consciousness, usually 8 hours

but when your dead there is no time its just a static state of you being in that void, like you were before you were born

Realise aggregates are not "You" in a metaphysical sense
realizing that intellectually does not translate to a dampened emotional state. the death response is completely physiological, you cannot overcome it. most people about the die require a lot of morphine because they are extremely anxious. the idea of peacefully passing away is a myth. they pump grandma full of morphine so she's not conscious when she dies to achieve that. this is why dying suddenly or during sleep is ideal.

Realise with a capital "R". Intellectual intuition not existential abstraction.

so a nuclear war would be optimal
