I have a slight bimaxillary protrusion, and I'm planning to get braces

Should I get extractions? Logically thinking, that should fix my bimaxillary protrusion (if not, lmk). If not, why? What's a better alternative?

Do NOT get extractions no matter WHAT. If your ortho or dentist is telling you to get one they’re tryna fuck you over. Don’t allow them to remove your premolars whatsoever and opt for a expansion instead

ideally you want to keep all your teeth but premolar extractions won't fuck your face up like how everyone says on here; no one can bring evidence that extractions will recess your jaw it's a common rhetoric i see spouted here

So dumb… even if this is the case, expanders still mog for looksmaxxing, because they can expand zygos, infras, and maxilla

Why even bring this up, ru tryna prove a point or smt

Thread 'MSE is a looksmin. Thumbpulling doesn't work.' https://looksmax.org/threads/mse-is-a-looksmin-thumbpulling-doesnt-work.1512424/

don't be delusional it won't do shit for you
JFL this thread is so water its not even funny, i love jonas but he is wrong here

first off all, its already commonly known that MSE causes facial asymmetries in a lot of people, there have been new devices developed to compensate for this.. such as marpe. what it does is that in order to prevent facial asymmetries from overpulling, it will actually lock the device in place the moment the weight is being distributed unevenly, so you cant continue to clock the device.

ive also never considered marpe in the case that its done alone, its pretty much a given that if you are getting marpe, you have a narrow palate, which usually indicates recessions elsewhere.. and if ur getting bimax most of the time to qualify you need to get some form of orthos anyways, its a good way to make sure you can go straight into surgery... while also getting growth in bones beforehand

thumbpulling is cope, marpe is the future.

that's fair, only people who cannot maintain correct tongue posture on the roof of their palate should consider palatal expansion, i see too many tiktokcels wanting/suggesting expansion when it's not needed
