Many people think public school is the more cost-efficient option since you don't have to pay money directly to enroll, but they're sadly mistaken.
I went to a public high school in a big city, and the contrast between my public high school and the private high school across the street was stark, to say the least. Although my high school wasn't even that bad, one of the best academically in the state, it lacked the qualities that made me want to attend the private high school across the street. I did decently well academically, too, but throughout my high school career, I always felt something was missing from my high school experience. I started realizing that private school kids just lived better lives than us. From their social media posts, private kids were more attractive, had better connections, were more cultured and well-traveled, and seemed more put together and ambitious than public school kids. Yes, most of us kids at the public high school were better at academics, but they seemed to have more of a Faustian aura. A better illustration of this contrast would be that the private school kids next door, on average, had like 1000 followers on Instagram; their social media pages were photos of them worldwide, and there were more images of them at parties or social events, while most of us public school kids were pretty nerdy and played video games.
This is why you should send your child to a private school. There are other reasons, too, such as parents tending to be wealthier and more well-connected. You can avoid the incivility that occurs in public schools most of the time and generally get a better education.
I hate my parents for sending me to public schools throughout my life in the name of diversity and their "Progressive Liberal" values.
