Problem with some ethnic cultures

Lack of social and cultural reforms, in the name of "preserving" cultures. In other words, this is the way they delude themselves into not changing themselves for the better, due to a mix of stubbornness, brainwashed nationalism and lack of education.

Every culture went through this, but only ethnics have prolonged this for so long till recently. China and India are very good examples. In China, many parts are actually decent due to government assisted reforms, but rural areas still do a lot of mindless deity worship, superstitious beliefs, parental abuse etc. As for India, do I need to explain?

As humans, our biggest strength was always using our resources and superior intelligence to better the lives of ourselves and our kin. It's the reason that we are the most dominant species to have ever grazed the Earth and even possibly, the observable universe.
