I measured the width/height ratio of my tv, and then compared it to the ratio of two pics taken with my cellphone cam: one using the highest 64 mp resolution (no option for zoom in this res), and the other one using a 16 mp resolution using a 2x zoom. These are the results:

Real ratio: 1.55
1st pic: 1.46
2nd pic: 1.54

These results show that when using the highest, default aspect ratio of my cam, the image becomes severely distorted. In a selfie, it makes faces look longer and narrower. Meanwhile if I change the aspect ratio to the second highest resolution and use zoom, the image resembles pretty accurately real life proportions.

Consider this when uploading photos to get ratings. Make sure your face looks as close as to how you perceive yourself, how you see yourself in most mirrors.

Btw both photos were taken from the same distance, at roughly 3 arms length.

Bump so more people are aware of this. It can be the difference between a low ltn and a high mtn rate.
