Weightlifters always keep a low bodyfat bodyfat in order to remain in a low weight class; Despite this they manage to improve their strength and grow a massive muscle mass during their career.

if you can't build muscle at low bodyfat you need steroids, not a high calorie diet that bloats your face and body.

i have gone from 150 lbs to 220 lbs and I’ve kept my abs the whole time

bulking just means eating at a caloric surplus, and if you’re eating healthy while training properly, you aren’t going to get fat/bloated. That only happens if your diet consists solely of pizza, ice cream, donuts, poptarts, fried chicken, soda pop etc.

bulking means increasing your bodyfat for the purpose of adding more muscle mass

if your bodyfat remains the same you are bot bulking

well yeah it should be obvious that the people winning in a weight class are low bf as more of their weight is useful muscle.

oly lifters get this but somehow most powerlifters manage to be fat even in the 165 pound class.
 
Cmon man, do you really think they stay that weight year round? They don't. LU used to go up to 83-85kg from his former competition weight of 77kg and then cuts down for competitions

Weightlifters, especially young ones, are routinely pushed by their coaches to go up weight classes. What you are looking at are professional weightlifters, with top tier genetics, that are in their prime/peak. LU started out in the 69kg class if I remember correctly, and now he is in the new 81kg class. THEY GROW INTO WEIGHT CLASSES! THEY DON'T GAIN MUCH STRENGTH/MUSCLE WHILE IN THEIR WEIGHT CLASS! THEY ARE ACTUALLY AN EXAMPLE OF BULKING DONE RIGHT!

All olympic athletes eat an insane amount in-season. But that's not bulking. They eat so much because they need it for their intensive training regimen.

? i recognize his name but thats it. never did starting strength either. my introduction to weight lifting was from various high school sports practices spent partially in the weight room taking advice from my coaches. tbh man idk why you are so worked up about this, perhaps we just have different definitions of the term “bulking?”

it of course isn’t an official dictionary defined word, but in my mind i have always thought of it like this: eating a caloric surplus with the intent to gain strength/size. this will result in an increased bodyfat, but the fat can be minimized if your diet is good & you don’t eat too much. I feel like you must define bulking as eating everything in sight, including excessive junk food and just blowing up and getting overly fat. In my mind though, eating a few extra hundred calories per day via lean whole foods is what I’ve always considered bulking because it does allow someone to gain (mostly) lean muscle mass over time, provided that they are training and sleeping well.

No ti sbagli,i powerlifter stan sopra il 20% quasi tutto l'anno ,poi prima delle gare per rientrare nei pesi fanno una sorta di definizione, diuretici a manetta (come i boxeur o MMA tra l altro, ma li i diuretici son proibiti e se ti beccano ti levano la possibilità di combattere per un po' o per sempre). Invece parlando di powerlifter seri che alzano quintali han tutti bf sopra il 20%. Il bulking è necessario e vitale finché non superi il 15% di bf,ti dà una forza mostruosa mangiare carbo e tanto,forza che se mantieni anche in definizione fai il salto di qualità. Quelli che stanno in deficit calorico tutto l anno l anno dopo son identici,c è poco da dire o da fare, io prendo 3-4kg puliti all anno facendo massa per 9 mesi (non salendo più del 15%). Guardati teoria del conto in banca di master Wallace su YouTube.
Poi quelli in foto non stanno sotto il 15%

I try to eat at a caloric surplus everyday cause I'm an ectomorph. I'm not eating 1000 calories+, just enough to get over maintenance.

Imo intensity and consistency is kiiiiing.

I started training 6 days a week 2 day split two weeks ago. High intensity and consistently.

bench litteraly went from 60kg for x2 to 70kg for x1. and on top of that I could've repped 70kg but I didn't since I wanted to try 75 (failed)
can rep 60kg x6 now too.

to finish it off I was cutting the whole time. lost a full kg in those too weeks. (59kg) Still natural atm.

huge increase in strength was because by body recruited wayy more muscle fibers due to intensity.
I'll probably really quickly get up to a 75-80kg bench before my strength gains slow down and I'll need to focus more on hypertrophy

One of my football friends was slayer back in the day with hollow cheeks and wide zygos.
Now he started bulking to gain size and now he looks bloated ASF at 180lbs.

It depends, if you are a beginner and your hormones are ok you can build muscle and decrease bf% at the same time in the first year or two of training.
 
its defo not bullshit I used to be under 60kg at 5'11, now 70kg at moment and feel a lot more confident and look a lot better (I am still lean though as only lean bulked). Considering I've managed 10 slays (not impressive by any means) being skinny af and high inhibition should be able to slay by 80kg with low inhib
