I have an old nikon D3000 at home, and I have used it to take pictures of myself. I like the way I look, it's pretty much the same as a mirror because it has the least lens distortion.
Even if you move your phone away from your face it doesn't have as much detail as a camera. If you want to compare check out my other pics in my profile taken with a phone.
