I'm having trouble finding examples of people with it(recessed midface) and thus pinpointing the exact affects on overall aesthetics. Can someone please show me a good example?

Long distance between start of nostril and tip of nose (this is because the maxilla area just above mouth is far back, meaning the cheekbones and everything will be set far back too since its all connected):

See when a lefort1 is performed, its brings the lower maxilla (just above mouth area) forward, this makes the nostrils start much more forward set:

Also, a recessed lower jaw will almost always be connected to a recessed mid face - again because its all connected.

His mandible angle is good would a Maxiofacial surgeon fix be able to fix a rounded mandible angle with a recessed maxilla?

What's a rounded mandible angle?

It doesn't matter if the jaw bone is rounded or tapered, what matters is the angle (of your bite). Yes any angle mouth can be turned or rotated to be the perfect forward facing angle. However, its the mouths angle that will be rotated, and the mandible will follow. If you have a short ramus, it wont be lengthened with double jaw surgery, so it will still taper up at the ramus, but the front of the mandible will have a perfect angle.
