true. smartphones have become a commodity and you can get great ones for under 300 bucks.
i still prefer iphones though because they literally last ages without lagging or going out of service updates.

just don't ever get the flagships, they aren't worth it. i had the original se for 4 years and have my iphone 8 for just as long rn.
and they hold a good resale value better than any other phone

if you find a cheap one yes. if you buy it used you'll most likely have to change the battery sooner or later, but that isn't even that expensive.

if i was you i'd search for a good used XR or wait a few months and buy a used SE. if you buy it used you barely lose any money if you don't break it.
