PSL Scale (Pore Size Level):
- PSL 1: Minimal Pore Visibility
- The pores are very small, almost invisible to the naked eye.
- Skin appears smooth and even, with no noticeable congestion or texture issues.
- This is typically seen in those with normal to dry skin.
- PSL 2: Slightly Visible Pores
- Pores may be visible around the nose or on the cheeks but are not enlarged.
- Skin texture is still relatively smooth.
- A person with oily skin may start to notice more pronounced pores in the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin).
- PSL 3: Moderate Pore Visibility
- Pores are more noticeable and visible in the T-zone or other areas (like cheeks).
- Skin texture might appear slightly rough, and congestion (like sebaceous filaments or blackheads) could be present.
- This is common for people with oily or combination skin.
- PSL 4: Enlarged Pores
- Pores are visibly enlarged and noticeable across the entire face.
- Often associated with a more oily complexion, blackheads, and sebaceous filaments (often seen in the nose area).
- Pore enlargement may also be a result of aging, as the skin loses elasticity over time.
- PSL 5: Severely Enlarged Pores with Congestion
- Pores are very large and may appear as dark spots (due to clogged pores, blackheads, or acne).
- Skin may be bumpy with noticeable texture issues, and the appearance of blackheads or pimples is frequent.
- This level may indicate that the skin has a high oil production rate, or is struggling with clogged pores.
