i have ptosis in my left eye and it only appears to be getting worse :feelswhy:

a post about ptosis comes up every once in a while here but it usually only gets 1 reply telling them to get blepharoplasty...

i am unable to purchase oxymetazoline in my country

i have tried exercises which sometimes help temporarily but people speculate that this will only stretch your muscle, making the issue WORSE and this is unfixable without surgery

would wearing an eye patch on my right eye potentially help? my hair sometimes covers my left eye and i notice myself looking more so through my right eye than my left. does that mean that is the source of the issue?

im desperate for any non-surgical solutions please give any suggestions!!

Try:

-sleeping 8 hours a day
-lower you sugar blood levels
-cold showers when you wake up
-perma squint with the eye you have the issue, so your eyelid get more stronger

do you have real ptosis or just different hooding in one eye

Ptosis Causes

Ptosis can be congenital with no known cause, while it can also be a sign or symptom of underlying disease such as diabetes or a pancreatic tumor. In other cases, ptosis can arise upon exposure to certain toxins present in snake venom. Congenital ptosis may also occur when the levators or the muscles that pull up the eyelids fail to develop. Ptosis occurs in the elderly when the eyelids begin to lose elasticity, causing the skin on the eyelids to sag and drape over the eyes.
