when i first saw the movie psycho which came out in 1960, it was around 1985 and i was only 15. by that time everyone already had color tv and most movies were in color, so psycho felt quite old already(especially with its sequels out already which i saw before the original), but in reality it was made only 2 and half decades prior.
now if you're a millennial or early gen z, and 2 and a half decades ago is only the year 2000. which means a movie like matrix is as old to you as psycho was to me.
furthermore i lived through the tail end of the vietnam war growing up just as many of you had lived to see the veterans returning and some still active in various conflicts in the middle east.
in 25 more years, i will be dead most likely, and you will be as old as i am now. that's the age pill in a nutshell.
