I have a small philtrum and a chin I think is too long. Now I'm planning to get a Lefort 1 in the future, the surgeon told me I could do downgrafting of the maxilla to balance out the chin to philtrum ratio, but as much as I've researched and seen comparison photos, a small philtrum is ideal and shouldn't be messed with. She also offered genioplasty for making the chin a bit shorter, but also I've read here that many of yall praise bigger chins and are against smaller ones (ik proportions and ratios are the most important, but still).

So my question is, how should I go about it? Should I just avoid downgrafting and go for genioplasty for reducing chin's vertical height (a.k.a my current plan) or should I get some downgrafting aswell? Or should I avoid vertical chin reduction from genio and just get the normal one (my chin is slightly recessed)?

I'm also aware that the nose will get a bit more upturned from upper jaw surgery, thus making my philtrum appear a little longer anyways, but this shouldn't affect the actual measurement of the philtrum.

Also I tried measuring my CPR at home, my philtrum was around 11-12mm while my Chin was like 40-45mm at least (yeah JFL ik). Idk if the measurements are correct, and no my chin doesn't look like crazy overly prominent like ogre level shit (which is why I doubt my measurements were correct lol), it's just too long for my liking and I think it fucks with my looks a bit and my self-measured CPR seems to back it up.

If your philtrum is small and your overall midface ratio is within the normal range then a bimax with chin height reduction sounds best if your chin is really that tall that it's throwing off ratios. Impossible to say without pictures.

I haven't done any scans yet, but just by looking at it my maxfac told me that I don't need a BSSO. I've read that CCW rotation could make my chin look smaller from the front, so maybe I'll talk to her about it. And yes my philtrum is small, and I like it, I don't really want to make it bigger at all.

I'll get the full on face scans so I can see my maxillary recession clearly and see IF my lower jaw needs anything. My chin is a bit recessed so I'd like to go through with a genio anyways. And ik it's hard to tell without a pic.
