let's say you got an infraorbital implant and decided your eyes needed something else done as well, would that create complications for the other surgeries such as cantho/lower lid retraction, etc.? like would you need to remove it first. i've seen people that have gotten genioplasty and then say that it's not so easy to get bimax after? idk i just want to know if it's the same kind of situation

Yeah. You might not need to remove it, but having an implant would affect the whole area and what surgeries can be done.

Theres orders to stuff you really shouldnt get implants before bone work or soft tissue work imo.

genio and bimax are both osteotomies so it's different

thing is you could need it because sometimes implants change something in your soft tissue too (lowered lids)

infra implants cant be taken out

which kills this thread anyway

point is whether or not it would effect the ability to do eyelid surgeries

some people say otherwise this is confusing
All you need to do is think logically
Lower lid retraction alters the soft tissue
doesnt affect the IO implant which is apart of your new structure, you would not need to touch the implant thats stuck to your bone if youre just gonna make an external incision and cut to tighten your lower eyelid. If anything its just gonna provide better support.
Bimax however is altering the fundamental skeletal structure of your face so that means implications as everything else is dependant on it

okay that's good then. i think an implant is less likely te get botched so hopefully that works out, i only have like 1 mm scleral show
