I've been thumbpulling and I think I've got the tecnique quite right. However i have to wear a retainer at night due to the fact that i've recently removed my braces. The retainer, apart from possibly nullifying my thumpulling progress, is also asymmetrical on one side.
Would there be a way to slightly stretch my upper retainer without breaking it so that i can thumpull without worrying about it for at least another pair of months?
I've heard of people dropping mouthguards in boiling water for a few seconds so that they could adapt them to their teeth. If i dropped my retainer in boiling water briefly and then tried to make it wider would it work? Am I risking of just melting the retainer?
