I ask : would vit B6 supp potentially accelerate DNA methylation ageing cuz of the methyl group ?

DNA methylation ageing changes according to Steve horvath’s multispecies clock shows that the majority of changes r methylation percentage gain …

What reason would you have to supplement with B6?

I don't know anything about methylation.

My go to is to lookup studies associated with all-cause mortality, because of how complex and non-linear the mechanisms of the human body are. It's too easy to make narratives that make anything seem good or bad, based on mechanisms in the human body. Some things that seem like they would hurt us, actually reduce our all cause mortality.

Vit B6 is inversely associated with all cause mortality. So it's probably fine.

I'd stop taking it if it makes you feel worse.

Good answer but I’m still unsure lol

This supp has like 6x the recommended daily

I usually don't take supplements unless there's a really strong case for it. Our bodies are evolved to take in things in certain combinations that occur in plants, animals, seeds, nuts. Some things we do well with in a pure state like Vit-C, but it's not guaranteed for a random thing like B6 unless there's good evidence for it, and some things like Vit-E actually increase all cause mortality when taken as a supplement.

If you're concerned about sleep quality, in addition to what I already mentioned, I recently discovered if I stay more awake and alert during the day (not relaxing sunbathing for example) I have much higher quality sleep, after about two weeks of doing this.

You could try this.

Hey fed nigga
Yes PLP boosts one carbon paths they synthesize SAM b6 helps their generation which increase dna methyl

From increase in CpG sites it predicts adds of methyl groups to 5’ position of cytosine rings in CpG dinucleotides causes gene expression modulation thru transcriptional repression/activation

I’m not takeing melatonin for sleep but for separate reasons . I still take it b4 sleeping but the purpose isn’t sleepmaxxing

Associations aren’t very relatable. Something can be bad for you and still have positive “associations” because the average person who takes it is just healthier than the average person who doesn’t take it for unrelated reasons

True.
The studies focus on alpha tocopherol:
The most common form of Vit-E, most used in the body, and most supplemented with.

Dosage matters. But my point wasn't about Vit-E, that was just an example that taking some vitamins can increase all cause mortality. In double blind placebo controlled studies, multivitamins also increase all cause mortality.

The bigger point is, that we shouldn't assume ingesting anything is safe by default, we should weigh all of the evidence, ideally.

  • Hmm...

Taking alpha tocopherol only is bad. The whole complex is needed. Thus it can only be concluded that vitamin E in just the alpha tocopherol form is bad in large enough doses.
