I know, this topic has been debated over and over, but mewing? Why are people so fixated on that?
It's an old practice invented by Doctor Mew, and he has been such a trouble in the orthodontist community that he was basically banished from it. Then, in the abandonment he created his own science and called it "orthotropics", which was always considered pseudoscience, and to this day - it's still is. Because no studies or researches could proof effectiveness of his practices, to this day.

Nonetheless, people claim mewing works, often posting results of their "astonishing" transformation on the internet. But as I see it - mostly, all the result came either due puberty, good lightning, photoshop, surgeries or/and genetics.

How can you, for example fix a recessed chin with mewing?? When it's a complete bullshit. When the chin is recessed, there is literally not enough bone material in the chin for it to be defined, mewing can't grow new bones.
And the whole deal with it is - to keep the tongue on the roof of the mouth, when its literally tongues natural position in the mouth. And when it isn't, it usually means there is malocclusion, which is fixed with braces.

So people believe and make a cult out of pseudoscience, and convince themselves they see results, when it isn't even remotely proven to give some. Someone could say now: "Yeh, well, they don't want to prove it, because orthodontists will lose money!!" Yeah, right, like there weren't other 1000 invented things in the world, which caused people and corporations to lose money. But this random pseudoscience astrology or homeopathy alike - should for some reason be a different kind of deal.
What do you think?

i dont think it is a solution 100% i do however think that it will keep your situation form getting worse. So a good tongue position will help your jaw from getting fucked over more

I think it became really popular after TikTok influencers like ************* and K Shami started vouching for it, and eventually it just became a meme
