so i have really straight hair (1a hair) with literally no texture and it's worse looking than justin bieber when he was a child. Did anyone here got a perm and got good results? I would be reperming my hair every 5-6 months even if this means i'm gonna be bald at 30

do u keep perming ur hair? im trynna do a loose perm or subtle wavy hair, i don't want ofc curly broccoli head.
i will grow my hair out to like mid length so that my perm lasts longer.

Yes, but be careful because if you find a shitty hairdresser like what happened to me they will burn your scalp and ruin your hair

i see, i'm gonna try first to ask an stylist if he can cut my hair in layers to give it more texture, if it does not work then im going for the perm route. by the way, did u manage to fix the damage on your hair?

it goes well asf but every 5-6 months is too long if your getting ur hair cut between then.

idk i like to get haircuts with my perm. i do mine wvery 1.5 to 2 months

i see, i would leave it as it is because i'm not trying to shave the sides or anything, thats why i would make the re perm times longer. may i ask for you how long you've been perming your hair (and did it cause any balding or problems)?

a little over a year and no it hasnt but its all dependent on genes

however it depends 100% on your barber. I advise you to make a perm that tends to curl because then with washing it will fade and become wavy. if you do a perm that's too weak, the effect ends up being shit and it’s better to not doing it again because by doing so you'll fry your hair

it's like coarse straight hair (spiky af similar to latinos but i'm caucasian), i prefer to not share pics of myself

yeah, I do like this because I'm forced, I think I have the straightest hair on the whole forum. If the hairdresser does a good job you will hardly go back to straight hair

You can do as you like, it depends on your hair root allows you to make them stay up. Tell the hairdresser and show him the photo and he'll give you a perm to make it look like that. I recommend wavy fringe though, no risks and almost guaranteed effect
