I was at a party a few weeks ago and ended up approaching a girl and a matter of minutes later was with her in one of the bedrooms upstairs.

Unfortunately there's no special 'trick' to approaching, the trick is to be tall and attractive

I just approached this girl asked what her name was and she asked if I want to go upstairs, yes this might be an exceptional circumstance but this is true for almost all cases. As long as you are attractive enough you only need to have the confidence to just go up and start a conversation, no special 'lines' needed just ask for their name...
