Throw away your Internet, phone and computer - these things are very addictive and destroy the attention span, people simply can't sit anymore today and read a whole book in one sitting.
Back in my days, we didn't have these things, we didn't even have TV, so there was nothing to disturb you from studying, as we gradually started to get TV, cable, game consoles, computer, Internet, smartphones, etc. it became increasingly harder to read and study, because there was always something better to do, more interesting things to watch, play, etc.

Back when I was a kid in communist Romania, we only had a black and white TV and just one TV channel, that transmitted only for 2-3 hours a day, mostly propaganda - there was literally nothing to see. When you came from school you were pretty much forced to study, do your homework, etc. because there was nothing else to do inside, excepting staring at the walls in your room... All the other kids were also at home, studying, the streets were empty so you couldn't even go outside to play.
