Take you’re index finger and place it on your canine fossa
IMG 7928

Then press as hard as you can, the more of your finger you can get in the deeper ur canine fossa

If yo can get like half the tip of your index finger or more in id say yours are pretty deep

@cromagnon @raabla @ey88

Best would be just to get an xray ofc

A deeper canine fossa—the depression in the maxillary bone just above the canine tooth—can be advantageous in various clinical and anatomical contexts due to the following reasons:

1. Support for Canine Tooth and Adjacent Structures:

  • A deeper canine fossa provides robust structural support for the roots of the canine tooth, which typically has the longest root of all teeth.
  • This aids in proper anchorage and stability of the tooth, essential for effective chewing and overall dental health.

2. Improved Maxillary Sinus Drainage:

  • The canine fossa is closely associated with the maxillary sinus. A well-defined, deeper fossa allows for better separation between the oral cavity and the maxillary sinus, minimizing the risk of sinus infections caused by dental issues.

3. Enhanced Facial Aesthetics:

  • A deeper canine fossa contributes to more pronounced mid-facial contours, which can enhance facial symmetry and aesthetics. This is particularly noticeable in individuals with a strong and well-defined maxilla.

4. Better Surgical Access:

  • For surgical procedures, such as sinus lifts or placing dental implants, a deeper canine fossa can act as a landmark for surgeons. It offers easier access to the maxillary sinus and reduces the risk of complications.
  • In endoscopic sinus surgeries, the canine fossa is sometimes used as an access point to the maxillary sinus (via the canine fossa approach).

5. Speech and Phonetics:

  • A well-defined canine fossa may aid in proper articulation of sounds, as the positioning of teeth and the maxilla play an important role in speech production.

6. Anthropological and Evolutionary Significance:

  • In evolutionary terms, a deeper canine fossa is often linked to stronger facial structures and an efficient biting mechanism, which was crucial for survival in ancestral environments.

the deeper the better
Isn't it better to have no depression there. I feel it contributes to nasolabial folds
Also it gives the idea of recession

If you’re lean and debloated it’s better to have deep

Maybe maybe a tiger could stand a chance
The largest bear ever recorded was 12 feet on its legs and weighed 800 kgs

I don’t do anything related to fitness so I’m pretty bad at estimating bf
