First off: elite overproduction is what you get when a society pretends biology is fake and tries to run everything off vibes and certificates. you take a normal bell curve population and try to turn half of it into future leaders just by handing out papers and fancy job titles. on the surface suddenly everyone is high potential. underneath the hood the actual number of biologically elite people basically does not move. you do not raise the genetic ceiling by yelling you are special at mid people for twenty years.
you cannot ideology your way into a higher iq. you cannot motivation speech your way into real self control if your baseline impulse control is trash. you cannot everyone is beautiful your way into good bone structure and strong facial features. school branding corporate slogans instagram posts all of that just sits on top of hardware that does not care.
the system right now is set up to manufacture people who feel like elites without being built like elites. go to school follow the checklist repeat the official beliefs collect the right certificates and you get told you are the next generation of leaders. ok. nice story. but in the real world intelligence is uneven. ambition is uneven. looks are uneven. emotional stability is uneven. these traits do not show up equally in every person. they never have. that is what variation is. so what you actually create is a giant pool of mid genetics with inflated self image walking around convinced they were meant for some high status life that their genome never had the budget for.
this is why elite overproduction always ends up breaking things. the problem is not just too many graduates. you are creating a whole social layer of people who really believe they got cheated by reality. their internal script says i did everything right, i followed the path where is my elite outcome?? the issue is that the traits that actually push people into the true top are not something you can mass produce. you cannot scale genius. you cannot scale charisma. you cannot scale extreme stress tolerance the way you scale degree programs or online courses. when the ideology keeps scaling and the genetics stay flat the gap between expectation and reality just stretches further and further until something snaps.
that is when the resentment kicks in. it is very hard for someone to admit maybe 'i am just not built for the level i thought i deserved.' (which is what this forum does, extremely well, too much even) it is much easier to say the system is rigged the old elites are corrupt society is stacked against me. they see people with better hardware move faster with what looks like less effort and instead of saying yeah that guy is actually sharper or that girl is legitimately better looking or calmer under pressure they go straight to words like unfair privilege and structural something. anything to avoid saying out loud i am mid.
so you get this push to rewrite the status game. if they cannot win in a competence hierarchy they go chase other routes. moral superiority. ideological purity. online outrage. victim points. they form movements and subcultures where status comes from having the correct takes the correct outrage the correct identity. if the old hierarchy will not crown them they build a fake one where they can pretend to be the real chosen few while the people who actually keep the system running get painted as villains.
underneath all the cope the core problem is pretty simple. you took unlimited promises and smashed them into limited biology. from childhood the line is anyone can be anything and you are all gifted. reality quietly runs on a bell curve anyway. a small minority really are monsters in terms of raw ability. most people are not. you can move inside your lane you can clean up your act and improve but you are not turning the whole population into genuine top tier performers just because you opened more universities and ran more leadership workshops.
on paper the elite population explodes. everyone has some degree everyone has some title everyone thinks they are too good for normal life. in their head they sit above average and believe they deserve some special path. in practice the number of actually genetically elite people the ones who would rise in almost any system does not grow like that. that group stays small. what grows is the huge frustrated blob in the middle. educated enough to look down on the masses not talented enough to break into the real top.
once that blob gets big enough the whole thing destabilizes. institutions lose respect because they spent decades telling mid people they were the future and then delivered them normal or below normal lives. people start grabbing on to extreme politics because it gives them meaning and an identity that says we see the truth while everyone else is blind. they start trying to burn down any hierarchy that reminds them they are not as special as they thought. it can come from any direction left right some weird cult mix does not matter. the engine under all of it is the same resentment and disappointment.
elite overproduction is not just some chart about degrees chasing not enough jobs. it is a bio and psychology trap. you create way more people who think of themselves as elites than you have real slots for and more than you have genetic material for. you train average people to feel robbed when life treats them like average. you build this huge tension between who i think i am and what i think i deserve versus what my traits can actually do in a competitive world.
when that tension gets wide enough things do not gently rebalance. people detach from reality and hide inside ideology or conspiracy. they either demand that the system rewrite the scoreboard to match their self image or they decide it is better to wreck the field entirely. to them that feels easier than facing the idea that biology got the last word. in the end elite overproduction is what happens when a society mass produces elite egos without mass producing elite genetics. the titles inflate the expectations inflate the promises inflate. the underlying human material stays about the same. when the bill for that disconnect shows up it does not get paid quietly.
