In my elementary school, my area (might have been my state) was required to take an IQ test as they were creating a 'gifted' kid program and I remember that of the five or so kids they selected. Two of us (me and one other kid) were of African descent (the other kid was mixed).
I honestly didn't find out it was an IQ test until last year, when I went deep diving through my school documents and found my results. I was in the 93-94% percentile, which roughly converted to 124 IQ.
