I also am not a fan of ray peat’s teachings but for other reasons. I could give less a fuck if he oy’s his vey’s. The advice his followers give is terrible and here’s why


1) The 2 most prominent peaters are fat Bulgarian. Why would you let an obese person dictate to you how you should eat? Especially if said diet praises sugar, and calls ice cream a powerful healthfood.

2)The anti-calorie counting rhetoric is plain misinformation. The idea that calories don’t matter and you can lose weight in a caloric surplus is wrong. Any time i’ve eating in a calorie surplus i’ve gained weight, any time i’ve eaten in a calorie deficit i’ve lost weight. I’m a former fatass, IK what i’m talking about and that’s the experience of most bar those who have thyroid issues. The stuff his retarded “low toxin forum” followers preach about “sugar speeding up metabolism” is misleading, because the added calories will far outstrip the metabolism acceleration, and you’ll end up fat.

3) some followers of RAye PEats shill progesterone to men. JFL if you didn’t see that thread on here about what happened to the hormones of the idiot who took progesterone and the gyno he got. This is a widespread phenomenon among progesterone users.

4)the ray peats cult ( yes, it has become one by this point) encourages fear and overthinking.
Ray peats fans are perpetually overthinking whether something has seed oils in it or will down regulate their thyroid 0.001 percent for 5 seconds lmao. It’s a cult of overthinking and stressing over bullshit, which cannot be healthy for your mind

Ray Peat is a gateway to insulin resistance and eventually diabetes. It shouldn't be of no surprise he passed shortly after Thanksgiving, a feast holiday. The insulin spike was too big this time.

I go outside like 6 hours a day lol but it’s not exercise it’s just being in natural conditions. Nonetheless, it will preserve physical condition better than exercise

exercise is only better than the most horrible lifestyle but it is far from ideal

sarcopenia is literally caused by not using the muscle. If you’re not working out, and an older person your muscles will waste away as the body has no reason to keep them around. I could go into detail on myostatin rising with age, and all that but nobody would read it anyways.
